A quick Q&A with Helen

What do you do to relax?

It will be a mixture between getting a decent night's sleep, going for a walk outdoors, swimming laps, sitting in a steam room or enjoying a nice strong cup of coffee.

What do you do to maintain your fitness and what do you recommend for other people?

I do indoor rock climbing about 3x a week right now and supplement with occasional swimming. There are other sports I participate in seasonally like snowboarding in the winter months.

I realise some of my sports may seem a bit extreme to some people so I keep it simple by recommending body weight exercises with some added band work for extra strengthening.

Where do you go in your down time?

Anywhere with fresh air and mountains. Usually any rainforest or mountainous terrain suits me well :)

What made you choose your profession?

I became a chiropractor because I was always intrigued by the human body and anatomy. Helping people to move without restriction, educating and training people to move more efficiently, and improving quality of life is the most rewarding part of my job. Feeling strong and being able to move freely is a freedom that cannot be bought.
